Hyde Avenue Playground, Clyde North
A delightful playground for young kids which focuses on lifecycles. Life cycles are the stages or changes that an animal goes through whilst alive. Frogs turn from eggs to tadpoles to young frogs and finally into adult frogs. Can you find each of the stages of the frogs life cycle? Fish turn from eggs to fry to young fish and finally into adult fish. Can you find each of the stages of the fish life cycle?
Hop into the sandpit amongst a giant frog and its eggs, travel down the creek with tadpoles and reach the sandpit. At the other end of the sandpit continue down the creek (dry stones) with a school of fish.
Climb the ladder to a platform with some giant eggs (how did the ostrich get up that ladder to lay those eggs?). After calculating how many omelettes you can make from these eggs, take a wave slide back down to earth.
There also swings, a horizontal rope net to climb, rock steppers and pipes to hit to make music. Look out for the lovely kookaburra sculptures and log balance beam across the creek. There is an observation platform with seats overlooking the wetlands area which is fenced off with the two wire fence.
Shelter with two tables, water tap, unshaded seats and some grassy area. There are some shade sails over part of the playground.
