Leo Hoffmann Reserve Playground, Newcastle Street, Newport
A really well-equipped playground. The main play structure has a ramp from the highest level leading down to a tower with a curved slide. An elevated rope bridge leads down to a smaller tower and an inclined balance beam bridge leads down to an even smaller tower with steps to the ground. This would be the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears if only I could find some porridge!
Connected to the towers is a traversing course of ropes and logs. Also two standard swings, flying fox with disk seat, spinning disk, birds nest swing, and a partly shaded sandpit with a water tap on the side.
On one side of the playground area is a grassy oval surrounded by a concrete bike path and on the other side of the playground is a Ninja Warrior course with basketball / netball court and tennis wall.
There is a shelter near the playground with two tables and BBQ plus a water tap. An area like this needs toilets but sadly there are none.
