Hobsons Bay Yacht Club (Williamstown)

Hobsons Bay Yacht Club is only 10 minutes from the city. In the heart of Williamstown, a small community minded club, with racing, cruising, women's and juniors activities as well as enjoying fantastic views of the city and bay.

Hobsons Bay Yacht Club has an exciting yachting calendar and is very keen to encourage non-sailors to enjoy this sport. The Twilight Series on Wednesday and Thursday evenings goes from October to March and is the time when the community is welcomed to join in on the late afternoon race. The race takes approximately 1-2 hours depending on weather conditions.

In the winter we have the very popular Brass Monkey Series where around 40 club boats regularly participate.

At Hobsons Bay Yacht Club, we are proud of our friendly culture and the development of our clubhouse, yard, marina, and sailing program over the 130 years of our club.

Junior Squad - Junior Fleet is held most Sundays Term 1 and Term 4. It is FREE, you just need to join as a junior member. Our Junior Fleet allows the kids not only to learn to sail but form friendships and become part of the club community. There are many social occasions during the year for them to interact with other children in the club. We teach the Juniors according to the Yachting Australia Dinghy Training Scheme, which means that they not only get to 'muck around in boats' but get a national accreditation at the same time. This is possible as Hobsons Bay Yacht Club is a Yachting Australia Discover Sailing Centre.
