Hillview Bushland Reserve (Pakenham)

.jpg)
Hillview Bushland Reserve was originally set aside for a quarry before being saved by community advocacy. The reserve is now protected by a Trust for Nature conservation covenant.
Walk through more than 2km of peppermint and messmate Eucalypt forest among five different Acacia species in highly undulating terrain on moderate fitness walking trails.
Review:
There is a sign beside Bathe Road indicating where the small car park area is located.
Initially, walking downhill from the carpark the tracks were wide and quite stony but in other parts of the reserve the tracks were narrower and not stony.
The track reaches the old water culvert with a narrow road beside it.

Turn to the right and follow the culvert until it ends. At this point, there are two tracks. One leads up a steep hill into the bush and the other is a gentler rise, which is the track on the left, which we followed. The track that we followed was a narrow dirt track, which follows the path of the creek/gully below. Most of the walk is either up going uphill or downhill and there's very little flat ground. All the tracks were displayed on Google maps which we used to navigate since none of the tracks are named or signposted.
