Hidden Grove Boulevard Playground, Keysborough
I was a bit concerned when I heard that this playground had been upgraded - had the giant pencils been sharpened down to mere stubs? Don't fret since they were still standing proudly next to the playground with not a pencil sharpener in sight. This upgrade is a real success and oozes cuteness and fun.
In the centre is a climbing frame with two metal slides, various ladders, climbing walls with frog hand holds and a rope net tunnel bridge.
Also a flying fox with disk seat, log climbing walls, vertical poles with climbing holds, birds nest swing, two standard swings, inverted V with climbing holds, spinning carousel, in-ground trampoline, little four person rocker, springer, log and rock steppers, spinning rope cone, pipes to hit and make melodic music and a delightful simple maze panel.
There is a shelter with two tables, BBQs and water tap, big grassy areas and 50m along the path are huge wooden bird sculptures. One word of warning amongst all the positives - it is very close to a wetlands area which has very deep water. However, you can make it a positive and explore the wetlands which have boardwalks and plenty of information boards.
Note: Toilets are planned for early 2022.
