Heathmont Hornets Basketball Club (Heathmont)
Our basketball club offers an encouraging space for practising and playing basketball in a safe and supportive environment. We believe that basketball is for everybody and everyone is welcome!
We offer basketball to boys and girls from the ages of 6 to 20 from beginner to advanced levels in the Heathmont and surrounding suburbs area.
Since 1993, Heathmont Hornets has established itself one of the largest basketball clubs in the Eastern suburbs region of Victoria and is a founding member of the Ringwood Basketball Association.
With over 450 current members, our players compete during mid-week or Saturday in the Greater Eastern Basketball Conference (G.E.B.C) which is a combination of both Melbourne East Basketball Association (M.E.B.A) and Ringwood Basketball Association (R.B.A) teams. With over 600 teams to compete against makes it is one of the most diverse basketball competitions in Australia.
Heathmont Hornets prides itself on its inclusive and professional approach in supporting all children to enjoy playing basketball, develop team skills, gain confidence and to strive to achieve their best, regardless of ability.
Our qualified coaches will assist you in developing your basketball skills so that you can enjoy our great sport.
Training Venues
All junior training sessions are held on weeknights only. We aim to allocate earlier time slots to younger age groups as much as possible. However, this is highly dependent on the availability of coaches and the number of teams in each age group. Each team is allocated a 1-hour training session.
There are training venues in Heathmont, Ringwood, Ringwood East and Mitcham.
