Heathmont Golf Park (Bayswater North)

The Heathmont Golf Park is situated at 341 Canterbury Road between Heathmont & Bayswater North. It is quite a unique facility in the metropolitan area as its on 20 acres of natural bushland and is dissected by the Bungalook Creek. The Golf Park comprises a 20 bay Driving Range, a 12 hole Pitch & Putt Course & an 18 hole, outdoor Mini Golf Course. The Driving Range is a full length, tree lined range with 13 of the 20 bays undercover. Our hitting mats are a soft, top quality synthetic mat and the balls are normal white golf balls of assorted brands that we continually sort & changeover to maintain a high standard of ball.

The Pitch & Putt Course comprises 12 holes with grass greens set amongst the gum trees. The lengths of the holes range from 20 to 60 metres & average 40 metres. This is a great place for regular players to sharpen their short game and especially suitable for beginners & children to be introduced to the game before tackling full size courses.

The Mini Golf 18 hole putting course is set outdoors amongst native plants & trees, adjacent to the shop and provides good value entertainment for children & adults.

Golf Lessons are available with experienced PGA Professional.

Pro Shop
The Heathmont Golf Park Pro Shop is an Associate Member of the National 'On Course Golf Shops' franchise which allows us to buy very competitively from all the major suppliers. At present our shop only displays a small range of equipment but this will be expanded in the future.
PGA Professionals are available for advice about your game or equipment.
Golf Lessons are available, our experienced Teaching Professional.
There is a Repair Service also, specializing in regripping.
Hire Clubs are available for the Driving Range and Pitch & Putt Course.
The Pro Shop also offers hot & cold drinks, snacks, sweets & icecreams.

Driving Range
The Driving Range is a full length, tree lined range with 20 bays, 13 of which are undercover.
It's a secluded, peaceful setting situated approximately 200 metres from the Golf Shop in the middle of the Golf Park.
Our Practice Mats are the latest in top quality synthetic mats that provide a user friendly surface from which to play, as the soft composition of the mats reduces jarring that can be experienced on some harder styles of mats.
There are two Tee Heights, one for the driver & the other for fairway woods & hybrids.
The Balls we use are normal white golf balls of assorted brands, not specific range balls.
We continually sort the balls, replacing worn balls with new ones to provide a consistently good quality, clean ball.
There are twelve Distance Signs for players to aim for and some practice pitching targets will be provided inthe coming months.
The range is Floodlit for night practice.
Hire Clubs are available in various lengths for men, women and juniors.

Pitch & Putt
The Pitch & Putt Course comprises 12 holes with grass greens, set amongst a typical Australian bushland setting of gum trees.
The holes range in length from 20 to 60 metres and average around 40 metres. Its quite a challenging layout with small greens, plenty of trees and a creek running through the property. This is a great place for regular players to practice their short game, for social golfers who just want some fun and is an ideal introduction to the game for beginners and children before tackling a full size course.
Pitch & Putt is great as it can take less than an hour to play a round.
We have hire equipment available in various lengths for juniors, women and men.

Mini Golf
The Mini Golf is an 18 hole putting course set outdoors alongside the golf shop, amongst native trees and plants.
The putting surface is carpet on which various obstacles are located to add to the challenge.
It is very popular with children, ideal for family groups and even provides some good social fun for adults.
The Mini Golf is an idea activity for Kid's Parties. (see the Kid's Parties section)
Putters and balls are included in the price.

Kids Parties
The Heathmont Golf Park is a very pleasant outdoor venue for your child's birthday party.

There is an 18 hole Mini Golf (putt putt) course and a 12 hole Pitch & Putt course. The Mini Golf is suitable for all ages including those who have not played golf while the Pitch & Putt is another option but more suitable for children who have played some golf.

While we do not cater for food we do provide party tables & seating on the verandah as well as cups, plates and balloons.

Review:

A very pleasant outdoor course with friendly staff. The cost is lower than a lot of other courses and we were able to play multiple rounds for the standard cost. Overall the course is fairly easy for any skill level.

There are lots of trees and so it is quite shady. The holes are nice and long with occasional rocks on the fairway for obstacles. There are a few gaps in the carpet surface but in general the course is in good condition. It is generally flat around the hole and there are no "gimmicks" here.

You get up close to nature on this course. Sometimes when having a shot you have to stick your backside into a bush - that's OK provided there are no bees in the vicinity. Another tip is not to lose your ball in the sword grass - it's called SWORD grass for a reason.

The toilets were clean and there is a cafe serving ice-creams and drinks with indoor and outdoor seating.
