Heathmont Bowls Club

Heathmont Bowls Club is a popular lawn bowls, bar and functions venue, situated adjacent to HE Parker Reserve and the Dandenong Creek Trail.

With three of the best greens (including an all-weather synthetic) in Melbourne - set in a serene setting, with a stunning vista overlooking Mount Dandenong - it is known locally as a 'hidden gem' and is renowned for its spectacular views, and for being very welcoming to new members and social visitors.

The Club's fully licensed bar is open to drop-in visitors and non-members alike, to enjoy a drink and the good company - as well as the stunning view of the Dandenong Ranges from the modern outdoor decking area - or the regular BBQs, barefoot bowls, darts, billiards or resident angling club.

Heathmont Bowls Club also has an exclusive functions venue available for hire, which is popular for corporate functions, Christmas parties, family celebrations - including birthday parties, engagement parties & christenings - barefoot bowls and charity fundraising events.

In the 1970's, a group of the Heathmont Club's ladies team, on returning from celebrating at the Melbourne Cup, - a tad merry and still dressed in racing carnival attire - caused quite a stir by kicking off their high heels to play bowls in their bare feet, to protect the greens; in what is thought to have been the first ever recorded game of barefoot bowls. Since then the bare foot bowls concept has grown considerably and is emulated by bowls clubs across Australia and internationally.
