Heathcote Visitor Information Centre is located on the Northern Highway in the centre of Heathcote with good access and visibility to all travellers.
Friendly staff with excellent local knowledge will look after all your information needs in Heathcote's most sustainable building. The energy efficient Centre provides a friendly atmosphere, bright surroundings and a comprehensive display of surrounding Parks. Local produce, maps, crafts and gifts are sold within the centre.
Heathcote is a small rural township nestled amidst box ironbark forests, with a strong historical background dating from the 1850's. Heathcote has many physical and social attributes; the climate, the nearby peaceful bush environment and fine wines.
Heritage buildings, spectacular views, antiques and crafts, galleries, bushwalking, National and State Parks and Lake Eppalock are all within easy reach.
The Heathcote wine region is renown for its complex, rich and elegant Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Sangiovese, Tempranillo, Chardonnay, Marsanne and Viognier. It is developing a reputation in Australia and Internationally for producing some of the finest wines from Its unique Cambrian soils.
Outside the centre are picnic tables, BBQs, toilets and a water tap.
