Hays Paddock is a huge area with a fenced playground, wetlands area, two ovals and archery range. The playground is north of the carpark. If you head east from the carpark you come out on the southern oval where there is a shelter with table, BBQs, water tap with bowl, basketball court and bins.

The ovals are lovely and fringed with trees. South of the ovals is an area beside Glass Creek which is thick with trees but there are places for a dog to take a dip in the creek. A gravel path leads through this area to a more open area and ends at the corner of Kilby Road and Frater Street.

In the north east of the park there is another car park off Lister Street where there is a bin and water tap with bowl. The northern most grassy area is home to the Kew City Bowman and Boroondara Dog Training Club - maybe the dogs have been trained to fetch the arrows?

On the west side there is a wetlands area. Dogs swimming in the pond can disturb native birds especially during spring breeding season and dogs exploring wetland vegetation also risk encounters with snakes.

There are some picnic facilities outside the playground including a shelter with table, two unshaded tables, BBQs, bins, toilets and water tap with bowl.

There are walking paths throughout the park.
