Hansen Reserve Dog Off Leash Area (West Footscray)

Hansen Reserve is a large regional open space with playground, multiple sports fields and Kingsville Tennis Club. The entire reserve is off-lead except the community use area (former velodrome) and playground, located in the south-west corner.

A huge off leash area which extends over three sporting areas. There is a car park on the western side along Roberts Street. The area on the southern side with a playground in the corner is not off leash but does have the only water tap with bowl. The off leash area is north of the playground and stone pavilion. There is a bin near the pavilion as well as a couple of unshaded tables. One advantage of this reserve is that most of it is surrounded by fences of neighbouring properties and so it is hard for your dog to run too far away. There are also plenty of seats in case all this expanse of grass makes you feel a bit tired.
