Halls Gap - Turret Falls (Grampians National Park)
The 2.4 km return walk to Turret Falls starts from the Wonderland car park. The path climbs steadily and has steps but it is not steep. However, there are some sections which run beside steep cliffs and care needs to be taken with children. There are some spectacular views of the river gorge that you walk along. The falls are named after the rock structure that looks like a turret.
The path reaches the top of the falls where the creek passes through a series of rockpools before dropping into the gorge below. Care needs to be taken here since the rocks can be slippery. There is a track down to the bottom side of the gorge with good views of the falls and the opportunity with some scrambling to reach the bottom of the falls.
The falls are best viewed in winter when the flow is more reliable and during late winter and spring there are wonderful wildflower displays.
To get to the Wonderland car park, turn on to Mount Victory Road at Halls Gap and turn off into Wonderland Road. Continue along here to you reach the Wonderland car park. The walk to Turret Falls is on the opposite side of the car park then the walk to the Pinnacle. There are toilets and picnic tables at the Wonderland car park.
