Goldsborough - Kings Birthday Powder Magazine
The Kings Birthday brick powder magazine which was built by the the King's Birthday Co. c1878 is the only substantial relic that remains of the Goldsborough mines. Powder magazines were built to store explosives which were used in gold mining.
The building is located in an area which has remnants of old mining operations and cyanide works.
The magazine is located off Baker Road in the bush (see red dot on map below).
It can be reached by two wheel drive vehicles during dry weather but is more problematic during wet weather when the roads are muddy.
