Swimming Lessons
We believe that learning to swim and water safety is a vital life skill. It gives you access to a lifetime of water activities. Through our Swimming lessons at the Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre we aim to pass on our love of swimming to all members of our program.
Available for all age groups, our swimming lessons takes on a stepping-stone approach: small graded classes and recognition of an individual's achievements. This ensures students learn with others at a similar level and progress as strokes and skills are completed.
Glen Eira Leisure Swim School is run as a membership which includes a weekly lesson and unlimited access to the pool facilities for the student and supervision adult.
There are swimming programs for infants, children (3 years plus), adults and deaf-friendly swimming lessons.

Review:
The main features for kids are two water slides and Pirate's Cove Water Park. The Water Park has a nice spiral slide, two shallow gradient straight slides, smallish barrel which fills up with water and then the water runs over the roof and spreads over the excited kids below plus a range of other small tipping buckets and water sprays.
Two water slides are included in the entrance price - which is good or bad depending on your proposed use of the slides. The Ship Wreck slide is for two people on a raft and is dark but not too twisty or scary. The Pirate's Plunge ride is for one person and you go down on your back. This slide is fast and dark most of the way and could be scary for younger kids going down by themselves. Both slides can be ridden provided you are 110 cm tall - an attendant checks kid's height with a stick which happens to be 110 cm high. After 1pm in the afternoon parties get priority half the time - the moral of that is to come as soon as the slides open in the morning.
The temperature of the water for the rides and water park play area plus the indoor 25m pool was nice and warm. Apart from the Water Park area which is too shallow and busy to swim in, there is a 25m indoor pool which has a two lane wide Aqua Play area. The rest of the pool has lanes for swimming lessons and laps.
There is an outdoor 50m pool with two shade sails, limited grassy area and some tables and chairs plus lounge seats. Overall the Centre has very good facilities but it left us a bit flat and parties and swimming lessons seemed to have a much higher emphasis than casual attendees.
