Gateway Sanctuary Playground, Melaluka Road, Leopold
A huge shelter with tables and BBQs separates two playground areas. The area for younger kids has a small structure with slide, ladder, steering wheel, climbing mat wall, abacus and shop front. This area also has a family sized see-saw, two springers and swings. The area for the older kids has a large structure with tunnel slide, wave slide, shop front, spiral ladder, steering wheel, steps, three little tunnels, climbing mat wall, inclined climber, fireman's pole, monkey rungs, chain traverse and monkey bars. Standalone flying fox, swings and springer. This area also has unshaded tables and water tap. Grassy area, toilets and near a large wetlands area.
Note: The playground has been upgraded since this review. The new playground is excellent and has a nature play theme. There are tunnels, rope bridges, climbing opportunities, sand area with things to discover in the sand, musical instruments, little caves, cubbies on a hill and water play area.
There is a large rotunda, public toilets, picnic and BBQ facilities. Next to a large wetlands area with walking tracks.
