Ferntree Gully Quarry Recreation Reserve Playground, Quarry Road, Ferntree Gully
A lovely development of the Quarry Reserve. Situated at the highest level is a big sandpit with a climbing frame composed of a jumble of logs and a rope net, a birds nest swing and two standard swings. Beside this play area is a nice grassy area dotted with trees and a shelter with two tables and BBQ.
A lookout platform overlooks great views of the quarry which is filled with water and most importantly for kids - two metal slides which are perched on the side of the hill.
Concrete paths curve back and forth down to the water at the bottom of the quarry where there are some fishing jetties. There is a great vista of the quarry wall on the rear side of the lake. There are also some steps if you want a more direct route down to the water.
Swimming is not advised in the lake and the water is deep.
The car park is limited to only 16 cars and there is a water tap near the car park.
