Electra Reserve Playground, High Street Road, Ashwood
The playground has had a nice upgrade. The main part of the playground has a structure with a higher and lower end for different age groups. The higher end has dual wave slides, net ladder, fireman's pole, clanger to hit against pipes and a cubby underneath. This is joined to the lower part by a rope bridge where there is another set of smaller dual wave slides, maze panel, tunnel, shop front, steps, tic-tac-toe and distorting mirror.
This area also has swings with long chains which means LOTS of height, birds nest swing and spinning cup with hand wheel.
Higher up the hill is a big climbing area with lots of rope nets, ladders and traverses. On another side is a shady area for the youngest of kids with steps leading up to a tiny slide, swing with safety chain and an expression swing where the child and carer sit opposite each other.
Also a basketball half court and outdoor gym with elliptical trainer. There are shaded and unshaded tables and seats plus water tap but no BBQ. The playground is about 40m from busy High Street Road. There is a carpark at 21 Electra Avenue. It is best to park here and walk down to the playground.
The reserve has a multi-use community centre which is home to a variety of sport and recreational clubs. The Electra Community Centre houses the Ceres Calisthenics Club, the Monash Croquet Club and the Waverley Bridge Club. The reserve is also host to the Doberman and Dog Obedience Club.
The reserve has an off leash area for dogs.
