EE Gunn Reserve Playground, Beatty Crescent, Ormond
The central part of the playground which is unshaded has a busy structure with two slides, scrambling wall, fireman's pole, shop front, abacus, panel with animal shapes, chain bridge, rope ladder, block steps, hanging disk traverse, monkey bars and balance beam with obstacles. In this area is a birds nest swing.
At one end is shaded section with tangled rope climbing frame, standard swings, stand on spinner and small swing.
At the other end, also under shade sails is a police drink / drug testing bus (just reminding us never to play when over 0.05), huge green grasshopper springer, equally huge two person bee springer, carousel and panel showing how gears work.
Shelter with two tables and seats, BBQs, water tap, unshaded seats, toilets and thin grassy strip. 50m away are ovals and big grassy area. The reserve has an oval, birdie golf cage, outdoor gym and cricket nets.
Access for Dogs:
- The eastern ovals (closest to the railway line) are off-leash areas.
- All other areas including the playground area and western oval (closest to Malane Street and Beatty Crescent) are on-leash.
