Edinburgh Gardens is a large park and includes plenty of open lawn areas, shady and sheltered spots, garden beds and specimen trees, connected by an extensive network of paths. The park has a number of facilities including heritage rotunda, picnic and BBQ areas, tennis courts, lawn bowls, a basketball half court, skate park, fenced playgrounds, water tap, toilets, table tennis table and two sports fields; Alfred Crescent and W.T. Peterson ovals.
Roughly half of the park is designated dog off-leash.

On the Alfred Crescent Oval dogs are not permitted during training and matches. Dogs are not allowed on W.T. Peterson Oval. There are bins scattered around the park and lots of seats. Beside the pavilion are toilets and a water tap where someone has placed a bowl.
