Eaglemont Tennis Club (Ivanhoe East)
Eaglemont Tennis Club welcomes players of all standards, from beginner to champion, and of all ages.
The club has 10 courts (6 en-tout-cas courts and 4 synthetic clay courts) with lights on 8 courts. Eaglemont Tennis Club is one of Melbourne's most picturesque tennis venues.
Coaching - Tennis coaching is available at the club for players of all ages and standards.
Shane Scrutton (Yarra Tennis) is the resident coach. Shane is an accredited TCAV advanced coach, with playing experience on the international satellite tournament circuit, at a US college, in Tennis Victoria's mens state grade pennant competition, and of course at the club. It's never too soon, or too late, to polish your game!
Social Tennis - Playing tennis outside of formal competition is a great way to spend time with friends, have fun, get fit, and polish your tennis skills. Club members and their guests are always welcome at the club, to enjoy its facilities. Courts are available at all times except Saturday mornings during the junior-competition seasons.
A group of social players always come down on Sunday mornings and members are welcome to join in.
Members are entitled to bring one playing guest per month, and the same guest once every three months. For each such guest there is a $5 visitor fee.
Competitions - The club is affiliated with Tennis Victoria, Heidelberg and Districts Tennis Association, Eastern Region Tennis Inc., Bayside Regional Tennis Association, North Eastern Night Tennis Group and North Eastern Junior Tennis Association. The club fields teams to play in the respective competitions, according to the interest and availability of club members.
Juniors - We cater for junior tennis players of all ages and standards and provide a family-oriented environment for children to learn the fundamentals, and then move into competition play if they want to. With 10 courts and set in a beautiful location it is a wonderful place for youngsters to learn the game and then climb the ranks competing for a strong, well organised club rich in history.
The club has well in excess of 100 junior members and fields 10 boys and 10 girls teams in the North Eastern Junior Tennis Association Saturday morning competition as well as entering teams selectively in the Sunday morning Eastern Region Tennis Association competition.
Membership - In general, you must be a paid-up member of the club before you can use the club's facilities to play tennis. Members are entitled to use the club's courts and facilities, except courts allocated for competition or coaching, at all times.
