Doncaster Little Athletics Centre
Doncaster Little Athletics Centre is made up of a Centre Council and six Clubs. The clubs are Doncaster Lions Little Athletics Club, Bulleen Templestowe Little Athletics Club, Doncaster Heights Little Athletics Club, Doncaster Saints Little Athletics Club, East Doncaster Little Athletics Club and Templestowe All Saints Little Athletics Club.
The Centre Council operates the centre overall to support the clubs.
Each Club operates its own committee to manage the members' needs, uniforms, teams etc. With approximately 600 athletes at the centre, the clubs also provide a point of contact for our many athletes, and assists the centre in running the programs and special events.
The emphasis at Little Athletics is on participation and skills development. It's an ideal first sport for children. The running, jumping and throwing activities help develop balance, flexibility and strength.
With the emphasis on participation and development, athletes are encouraged to compete against their own "personal best" time or distance. In this way, athletes do not have to focus on winning but on improving their own performances. All athletes are fostered and are given the opportunity to compete at Regional carnivals (both relays and individual) and many progress through to state level against the best athletes in the state.
The Doncaster Little Athletics Centre meet at Rieschiecks Reserve, George Street, East Doncaster and boasts an all weather track with excellent facilities for athletes and spectators alike.
