Dimboola - Snape Reserve
The Snape Reserve is a Trust for Nature Property comprising 846 hectares, adjacent to the Little Desert National Park. This extremely diverse property was acquired in 2002 to protect its significant conservation values. There are at least ten distinct vegetation types on the property, including river red gum swamps, several types of woodlands including the endangered buloke woodland, yellow gum woodland and cypress-pine woodland with large areas of heathland and heathy woodland.

Mammals and Reptiles
Visitors to Snape Reserve may see echidnas, wallabies, kangaroos, goannas, lizards, skinks and dragons. The Sugar Glider, Western Pygmy Possum, Silky Desert Mouse, lizards and snakes have been recorded in fauna surveys.
Plants
Vegetation types found on Snape Reserve include Black Box Woodland, Northern Plains Grassy Woodland, Red Gum Woodland, Herb-rich Woodland and Ephemeral Swamps, which are all regarded as endangered vegetation communities. Of significance is the Nationally endangered Winged Peppercress. There are a number of beard-heaths, daisies, orchids and the Narrow-leaf Phebalium which are all considered rare or vulnerable.
Opening Hours:
No access is allowed on days of Total Fire Ban.
Cost:
Walking access is permitted with the purchase of a day pass at the Snape Reserve. Children are free but must be accompanied by an adult. Visitors must sign the Visitor Record Book at the Information Bay.
Access for Dogs:
No animals allowed, except guide and medical companion dogs.
Restrictions:
No camping. No shooting. No bicycles. No Motor Bikes.
