Deep Creek Eco Playspace, Cameron Way, Pakenham
A super impressive play space which is most suited to younger kids and fully fenced with safety gates.
The centrepiece is a huge metal dragonfly with beautiful coloured wings pointing up into the sky. If you want to see the world from the perspective of a dragonfly, then take the ramp or rope ladder up into the body and then into the eyes of the creature.
Scattered around the base of the dragonfly is a herb garden and lily pad swing with hanging rubber seats. Another highlight is a huge sandpit with multiple compartments, digger and sand play tables.
Beside the sandpit is a sheltered area with a lovely musical area with seven different instruments and a water play area. Press the button on the pole and water sprays spring out from all over the place. Be alert or get soaked! Unfortunately the water features are rarely working.
On the side are a small wide slide, dual wave slides, wheelchair accessible roundabout and a rock slide that Fred Flintstone would be happy to use - Yabba dabba doo. Over the back are many paths to follow with areas to interact with fellow playground-goers - including wooden tepees, metal tunnel, log stump traverses and zig-zag seating. A swing area has a basket swing, swing with harness, three standard swings and a Liberty swing for wheelchair users.
The eastern side has a bike path in the shape of a contorted loop with weave poles and bumps.
There are plenty of shade shelters with tables, seats, BBQ and water tap. There are toilets nearby and the play space is located next to a wetlands area and kickabout area. Nearby is a golf club with a cafe.
