David Cooper Park Dog Off Leash Area (Wantirna South)
A grassy area with a playground, basketball court, shelter with tables and BBQs plus a bin but without a water tap. There are significant areas of trees and bushes to explore plus quite large patches of grassy areas.
On the north side is a thickly vegetated "Significant Conservation Area". A gravel path runs around the reserve. A creek with high steep banks runs across the north of the park. On the western side of this area beside the creek the grass is quite long and could be a snake hazard in summer.
Further to the east along the creek it is more grassy and continues around to meet the playground area. Overall this is about a ten minute walk. Near the playground is a pond which is fenced off.
There is also a seat and plaque commemorating Marianna and Salvatore Muratore who pioneered this land for more than 40 years.
