The off leash area is between Dunlop Street and Winton Road which covers three ovals - DW Lucas oval, Basil oval and Stanley Grose oval.
The Gardiners Creek Trail runs along the side of the ovals. There are a few trees around the ovals but generally there is not much shade. In the corner along Dunlop Street is a playground with tables, BBQ, bin and water tap without a bowl.
There is another playground at Stanley Grose Drive which is fenced. You can find a water tap with bowl beside the trail near the DW Lucas oval. On the side of the middle oval there is a pavilion, bins, seats, water tap with bowl and toilets (locked).
The pavilion at DW Lucas Oval is home to the East Malvern Football Club, East Malvern Junior Football Club and East Malvern Tooronga Cricket Club.
