Dandenong Park Playground, Lonsdale Street, Dandenong
A fully fenced playground filled with lots of curved sculptural elements and play equipment. A big platform towers over one end of the platform and is accessible by steps, rope ladder or spiral ladder. Routes down include a fireman's slide, twisty tunnel slide or dual wave slides.
The rest of the playground has a large sandpit with sand play equipment, hillock with metal slide, springer, steep ladder leading to a lookout platform, swings, stand-on spinner and sit-on spinner. There are a few unshaded seats and water tap.
For water play there is a tap that runs water down a trough to the sand pit.
Outside the fenced area is a birds nest swing, shelters, shaded and unshaded tables, toilets and BBQs. It has a very pleasant landscaped area. Some care needs to be taken since the playground is near Dandenong Creek which can become a raging torrent after rain. Across the creek is a multi-sports area including an outdoor gym.
