Dandenong Baton Twirlers (Doveton)
The Dandenong Baton Twirlers was established during the 1960's. Baton Twirling is suitable for females and males from 5 years who want to grow confidence, stay fit and make new friends.
Baton Twirling is one of Australia's fasting growing sports in which a metal rod, called a baton, is manipulated around the body and in to the air while simultaneously performing coordinated dance moves.
Athletes combine the flexibility and coordination technique of a rhythmic gymnast, the endurance of a sprinter in track and field, the strength and agility of a ballet dancer, all with the charisma of a synchronized swimmer. They can compete as a soloist, pair or team in small local competitions, qualify for states, nationals, and International Cups and World Championships, or simply enjoy local performances, camps and clinics.
Our club is run as a non-profit group run by volunteers.
