Review:

A new Play Centre which is touted as the largest indoor Play Centre in Australia (which I am inclined to believe after visiting). While we are talking big, the indoor slide is also the biggest in Australia.

The Centre is spacious and airy with lots of natural light. As you enter there is a food serving area and following the right hand wall are the toilets (clean), carpeted disco area and five party rooms which are nicely decorated and spacious. At the back are padded ramps which lead up to a very high four lane wave slide and a steep air slide. In the area around the slides are padded walkways, obstacles and smallish dual slides. There is also an enclosed slam dunk area for basketball or kicking a ball, mini trampoline, great rock climbing wall with handholds in the shape of sea creatures and an area along a wall with traversing elements including monkey bars and rungs plus hanging disks. There is a two lane bike track which goes around the structures. This means that there are cars and bikes buzzing along the road all the time which is a collision waiting to happen, especially since the road goes past the end of the large wave slides.

There are two areas for young kids (babies) next to the table area with some high soft walls which has some play equipment. The good-sized toddler area has a jumping castle and a great pirate ship filled with balls. Our kids loved submerging into the balls and being completely hidden - just like a crocodile preparing to attack a herd of wildebeest. Maybe that is why the Centre is called Crocs?

There are a good number of tables of different sizes in the central area. One bonus is the limited number of amusements which require extra payment (my pet Play Centre hate). It is possible for parents and kids to do some of the activities together e.g. slides. A couple of newspapers are normally provided but no magazines. At certain times the kids will be able to see Croc the Play Centre mascot.

An overall summary could be given by Maxwell Smart - missed by "this" much. Even though the key elements are very big they lack much excitement which makes the kids go back time after time. The wave slide is not very slippery and the air slide is also very grippy. I heard a few people say that they mustn't be wearing their slippery pants after coming off the slides. Just before the Centre closed they took the cover off the air slide surface which meant easier sliding, more mayhem and more fun. There is no large main structure where kids can get lost for hours. The entrance price is also at the top end although the Centre does seem flexible on pricing (get a few Mums together and get a discounted entry). The entrance price is slightly cheaper during the week.
