Cool After School is a leading children institutes for extra-curricula activities. Cool After School is manned by professionals who have had enormous experiences in kids' education and training. Whether they're looking for a new mental challenge or some fun musical activities, each location offers a variety of stimulating and engaging after school programs for children.
Classes run for the duration of each term and typically commence at the end of the school day, allowing children an easy transition from their classrooms to after school activities.
At Cool After School, our core belief is that every child is talented in their own special way. In other words, everyone is a genius! How many of us adults went through school and tertiary education not knowing why we study? Many of us later on in life realised that we are actually good at something and wished we could have discovered that talent earlier. Cool After School opens the door for many children to endeavour and enrich in different areas such as Art, LOTE, STEM, music and sports. Enabling them to finding a life long hobby or a beloved career.
We are keen on the concept of self empowerment, allowing the children to be the boss of themselves. Our classes not only focus on the specialised areas of learning, students of Cool After School also learn that effort and persistency are the basis foundation to any success.
Learning areas include S.T.E.M, Art and Craft, Tutoring, Music and Drama, English Literature, L.O.T.E. and Sports and Wellbeing.
Programs at this centre include:
Maths Olympic - Olympic Maths classes introduce students to important mathematical concepts, strengthen logic thinking and flexible problem solving. During our school holiday programs, kids will enjoy fun maths games that encourages problem solving and analytical thinking.
Coding Scratch - By using the fun and interactive software Scratch, our sessions teaches your child the basic concepts behind coding. For more skilled coders, they will be given certain projects to design according to their level. Student must bring their own laptops for coding sessions. We can provide a laptop for an extra cost, however, numbers are limited.
Coding Robotics - Our most favoured session of all time! Kids will get to have hands on experience with the latest artificial intelligent robots on the market. Through playing, they will understand the basic concepts behind coding and robotics. Children of different ages are given different tasks to complete according to their level of understanding. The Robotics session requires students to bring their own iPads.
Choir - Kids love to sing. Every session is fun oriented with either trendy pop songs, or timeless classics. They will get to perform their pieces to the audience at the play centre.
Mandarin - At Cool After School we believe that learning Chinese Mandarin is not only about learning the language but that it is also a mind and cultural experience. Hence we have taken a more holistic approach in designing and developing a step by step curriculum incorporating creative story-telling and multimedia materials that excites the imagination yet also touch on the students' everyday life events.
Mandarin - We are one of the very few programs that offers 3D printing for children. For this session, you will need to bring your own lap top, (you can use a computer provided by us with an additional charge). We collaborate with one of the largest 3D printing companies in Australia with over 100 printers. Students will be able to learn about the concepts and possible future uses with the 3D printing technology. They will also get to design their own project using a computer software. The designed project can be printed and pick up from the centre at an extra cost. Cost varies depending on how big the design is.
Art and Craft - Every session, you will be given a small project to create your own unique art work. These works are fun and interactive, and you will get to take your new friends home and play with them.
Art Sketching - Children love to express their emotions through art work. At Cool After School , our art curriculum offers young children the basic skills of drawing and sketching while still allowing those creative little minds to go wild. Interesting facts and history are also offered to students about famous art pieces, so students will have more appreciation of classic and modern art work.
Science Engineering - In each session, kids will have the hands on opportunity to build something that is commonly seen in everyday life. Through making and building, they are developing their fine motor skills, as well as understanding the theory behind how things work. Examples include vehicles powered by different forces, vacuum cleaner, slime making and magnet floating pen and much more.
There are Cool After School centres at Serpell Primary School in Templestowe and Box Hill North Primary School and a school holiday program in Hawthorn.
