Como Park North Petanque Court (South Yarra)

There is a single gravel petanque court next to an outdoor gym, water tap and grassy area.

There is a cafe along the river bank close-by.

Enjoy a game of Petanque using the following guidelines:

Teams
  • The game is played by 2 teams of 1, 2, 3 or 4 players.
  • Teams of 1 or 2 players use 3 boules per player.
  • Teams of 3 or 4 players use 2 boules per player.
How to Play
1. Toss a coin to decide which team throws first. The winner draws a circle in the ground and throws the cochonnet (jack) 6-10m from this point.
2. From the circle a member from the same team then throws the first boule as close as possible to the cochonnet.
3. The opposing team then throws a boule, attempting to get closer to the cochonnet.
4. Play continues with the team that is furthest from the cocchonnet continuing to throw until they either land a boule closer to the jack than their opponents, or run out of boules.
5. When a team has no boules left the other team throws their remaining boules.

Scoring
1. The team closest to the cochonnet wins the end and scores one point. An extra point is given for each boule closer to the cochonnet than the opposition's best boule.
2. The first team to acquire 13 points wins the game.
