Civic Park Playground, Civic Place, Warragul
The playground is separated into two parts with about 100m between them. Beautiful gardens, ponds and lawns surround the playground area.
There has been an upgrade and there's a bit of old (a blue concrete train), wooden toadstools and a lot which is new. There's a tall multi-level play structure with curved slide, high rope climbing wall, very high sloping parallel bars, climbing walls, tunnel, hanging traverse and wave slide.
Across a path is a play structure at a lower height for younger kids with a wave slide, tunnel, steps, rope ladder, and fireman's pole. There is also a cup to sit in and spin around, speak and listen system, two in-ground trampolines, bike springer, big stand-on carousel, hammock, birds nest swing and four standard swings. Part of the playground receives shade from trees.
The area higher up the hill next to a big round grassy area has a structure with wave slide, ladder, chain ladder, tunnel, steering wheel and curved ladder. Also a multi-coloured bug springer and swings. This area has a covered BBQ, unshaded tables and seats and water tap.
Between the playground areas is a huge shelter with four tables and BBQs plus two big ponds with bridges across and a gazebo. The playground is located near ponds so you need to be vigilant with young kids.
Lovely setting with huge grassy areas, lots of unshaded tables and seats. Toilets are located on the side of the council building.
One of the paths beside the playground has a Sports Walk of Fame including Lionel Rose (boxer), Gary Ablett (AFL), Peter Bartels (cyclist), Jason Bright (racing driver), Peter Knights (AFL footballer), Barry Round (AFL), Paul Maisey (Men's softball), Jayden Warn (Paralympics Rugby), Mark Ridgway (cricketer), Les Griggs (AFL), Michael Keane (Judo), Jodi Quinlan (Harness Driver / Trainer), Alan Noonan (AFL), Hailey Watts (Croquet), Jason Bargwanna (racing Driver), Kathy Watt (cyclist), Michael Scanolera (badminton), Marisa Yeaman (speed roller skater), Lichelle Clarke (swimmer), Anne Skinner (Equestrian), Belinda Watts-Keeley (underwater hockey player), Tania Margaret McLeish (underwater hockey player), Gary Ayres (AFL) and Tim Forsyth (high jump).
