Chelsea Beach Dog Off Leash Area (Chelsea)
Chelsea Beach is 1.5 km long straight stretch of sand with good road access, as well as parking, picnic and park facilities.
There is ticketed parking in the Camp Street area and very limited street parking.
There is a nice playground at Victory Park with a lighthouse overlooking the beach. The area next to the playground has a shelter with two picnic tables and BBQs, four unshaded tables, another shelter with two tables, unshaded BBQs, more unshaded tables and toilets.
A deck area between the beach and the playground has three lovely curved wooden seats to enjoy the views and sound of the waves, water tap and beach shower.
50m south of the playground is the Chelsea Longbeach Life Saving Club which is located at the end of The Strand. At the Life Saving Club is another beach shower to wash off all the unwanted sand.
Access for Dogs:
Summer Foreshore Dog Regulations (1 November - 31 March)
- Between sunrise and 10am dogs are permitted off leash on sand only
- Between 10am and 7:30pm dogs are prohibited on sand
- Between 7:30pm and sunrise dogs must be on leash on sand
Winter Foreshore Dog Regulations (1 April - 31 October)
- Between 11am and 3pm it is an on leash area.
- At all other times of the day it is an off leash area on sand only.
