Casey Philharmonic Orchestra (Berwick)
Casey Philharmonic Orchestra is a young, vibrant amateur community orchestra in the City of Casey; performing orchestral and chamber music to audiences in the South-Eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
Our vision is to build a welcoming community orchestra that provides opportunities for local amateur musicians in the City of Casey and surrounding areas. While we aim for high quality performances, we also strongly value building relationships within the orchestra, as well as collaborating with other local arts organisations.
Our ultimate aim is to become a hub for growing the musical life of Casey, with a youth ensemble, winter music camps for schools without an orchestra, mentoring opportunities for young/new players by established players in the group, provision of chamber music at various community events, and ultimately, even developing a professional ensemble/orchestra in the region.
Casey Philharmonic Orchestra seeks to appeal to lovers of orchestral and chamber music, whilst also reaching new generations and demographics not familiar with live orchestral music.
We seek to do this through a varied annual concert program, including well-loved classical orchestral favourites, as well as more contemporary popular genres, such as music from light opera musicals, film scores and pop icons.
We pride ourselves on bringing exciting orchestral music to the community; for audiences and musicians alike.
The orchestra presents four concerts every year and perform at the magnificent Bunjil Place Theatre in Narre Warren. We are so lucky to call the stunning Bunjil Place theatre our primary performance home. This state of the art venue is the City of Casey's treasured entertainment precinct and we are proud to present our shows to audiences in its main theatre.
