Carlton Gardens Playground, Carlton Street, Carlton
Very unusual Play Space with a series of walls different sized holes cut in them, two modernistic, stark metal towers with a big tunnel slide, smaller slides, musical instrument, monkey bars, fireman's pole, ladders and scrambling wall. There is a sandpit and musical bridge in this area. The surface has a range of textures including woodchips, gravel, sand and artificial surface.
Off to the side is a circular area with soft surface for young kids with a slide, cubby house, little swing and see-saw. Next to this is an area with monkey bars, flying fox and horizontal bars plus four swings.
Shaded and unshaded seats. Water tap. Grassy area with trees and big basketball court. The playground is located next to the Melbourne Museum. There is paid parking in the area and it can be difficult to find a place.
