Cabbage Tree Creek - Cabbage Tree Palms Walk
The walk is dominated by the striking cabbage tree palms, in their southernmost standpoint in Australia. Almost taste tropical air as you follow this walking track through the beautiful fan palms that more regularly grow amongst Queensland swampland. If you?re lucky, you might hear the mimicking calls of a superb male lyrebird engaging in his courtship serenade.
Start/ finish: Cabbage Tree Palms car park
Directions: Follow the signs from Marlo in the direction of Cape Conran and watch for the signed turn off to Cabbage Tree Palms. Alternatively, if travelling between Orbost and Cabbage Tree Creek along the Princes Hwy, watch for the signed turn off to Palm Track (unsealed road). From here the Palms are 5.5kms.
