Brompton Estate Playground, Encore Boulevard, Cranbourne South
This fantastic playground ticks all the boxes and we even found a few extra boxes to tick - a big tower with slide, hamster wheel, huge birds nest swing, shaded swings, sandpit with water play area, musical area, climbing area for bigger kids, picnic facilities, lots of grassy area for a picnic or ball games, toilets and a cafe across the road.
At the top of the mound is what looks like a rocket ship from a century ago. Climb up through some tunnel rope ladders to reach the start of a big twisting slide which spits you out at the bottom.
There is a huge tangle of logs and rope nets for climbing, a nifty bumpy slide which is made of rollers which spin as you slide down, large area of metal frames (maybe cubbies, maybe tunnels or maybe for climbing - take your pick), music area with xylophone, drums and vertical pipes, giant hamster wheel, spinning carousel, three swings under shade sails, a birds nest swing and a sandpit under shade sails.
There is a water pump at the top of the slope and a series of channels and sluice gates before the water runs into the sandpit.
The playground has two shelters, each with two tables and BBQs, unshaded seats, water tap, toilets and very big grassy area. Near the entrance to the playground is a cafe, Little Wolf.
Care needs to be taken with young kids because the playground sits next to a wetlands area and there are gaps in the fencing.
