Brickmakers Park Playground, Stamford Road, Oakleigh
The playground has been upgraded and is set next to a large shelter with two tables, BBQs, unshaded seats and water tap. The playground has a number of elements including a wooden structure with steps, ladder, fireman's pole, cubby, maze panel, shop front, wave slide, bars to hit to make sounds (without a clanger) and a speak and listen system.
Next to this structure is a big see-saw with horse seats, fox springer and small birds nest swing. Another structure has a wave slide, scrambling wall, various ladders, bridge with half circles, fireman's pole and ladder with disk steps. There is a large curved rope net climbing frame, swings and a log balance path.
On the other side of the reserve is a basketball court and there are toilets along Stamford Street.
In the south east corner of the large park is a display of historical brick making equipment. It's interesting to wander about this area and see the machinery on display. However some information panels would be a nice addition to this area.
The park has a number of asphalt bike paths for kids including a small circle which could provide a location for a lot of cycling mayhem.
There is a lovely garden area which has unusual and interesting plants around a pond. There is a bridge and an alternate crossing method using a line of stepping stones. Additionally there is a gazebo next to the pond and two quirky wind vanes.
