Box Hill and Canterbury Juniors Chess Clubs (Ashwood)
The combined Boxhill and Canterbury Junior Chess Clubs is the largest suburban chess club in Victoria. We strongly promote junior chess and our past and present membership includes many Australian and Victorian Age group champions, many of whom have represented Australia in international competitions. Our club events are always well attended and in some cases we have had to hang out the "Full House" sign.
The club meets at 21a Electra Avenue on Friday nights and Sunday afternoons. Rated tournaments are organised for both sessions throughout the year.
The club actively supports the development of junior chess through its junior organization Canterbury Junior Chess Club Inc. New members and visitors are welcome at the club and membership and tournament fees are kept at a reasonable level.
The clubs premises are spacious, modern and well lit with plenty of parking, areas for children to run around and accompanying persons to sit and relax.
