Boulder Lab (Ferntree Gully)
Boulder Lab is massive! With over 700 m2 of wall space, two training sections, a cafe area and multiple chill out zones, we've thought of everything and then some.
With wall to ceiling windows along the front and windows surrounding the entire gym, the gym is bright, open and a very inviting space. From the moment you walk through the front door, we trust that you will enjoy your Boulder Lab experience.
The Walls - Our walls were completely designed in house by Pat Klein of Concept Climbing and World cup finalist James Kassay. We have every angle covered, from positive slab right through to roof climbing.
The crown jewel of Boulder Lab is our "Comp Wall". Designed to IFSC World Cup specifications and inspired by James Kassay's competition experience, this section is just shy of 37 meters long. However don't let the name fool you, we will be setting anything and everything on there, so there will be something for everyone!
Our Setting - Our setting team has over 15 years of setting experience in commercial facilities, including setting at numerous competitions such as Oceania's, Nationals, State titles, Catalyst, and numerous local in house comps.
We believe that everyone should be able to climb on and try our entire hold collection, as such we set with Grade Tags (1-9 and our special Lab experiment grade). This way, as the climbs rotate throughout the resets you aren't limited to a set colour selection for your ability. Resets are completed twice a week, with an average of 12 boulders per reset.
We plan on setting a multitude of styles. With the sheer amount of terrain on offer at the Lab, you will always find something to fall in love with.
Training at the Lab - We have two training areas, one a more classic gym style, and the other focused on more climbing specific training. Our climbing training area has the commercial sized Concept board, the first one in the world! At 3.6 meters by 4.8 meters this all timber training board will take you to the next level. Just to the right of this we have a 4.1 meter wide 'Spray' wall, a Campus board, hangboards and weights.
Upstairs on our mezzanine we have a stretching and warm up area, hangboards, weights and more traditional gym equipment such as rowers and spin bikes.
The age limit for bouldering is 12+.

You can bring your dog provided they are well behaved. However for the safety and comfort of all patrons we please ask that you keep your dog on a leash, and in the front of the gym.
