Boroondara Park Playground, Canterbury Road, Canterbury
The former train playground has been upgraded and now seems to be the transport playground. A train still remains and welcomes all visitors aboard but I also spotted an aeroplane, motorbike springer and a bus panel. The only thing missing seems to be a unicycle.
The main structure has steps and blocks which lead up to a little wave slide via a rope bridge, an inclined walkway, bigger wave slide, THAT aeroplane (you can enter the cockpit) and a spiral slide. The structure also has a climbing wall, shop front and animal shape panel. This section reminds me of a McDonalds playground . The main advantage is that you don't have to eat something pretending to be a hamburger in order to play here.
There is a nice doubled sided climbing wall, twin flying foxes at different heights, balance area with zig-zag beam and stepping stones, medium sized pyramid rope climbing frame, two swings, single swing for little kids and a birds nest swing.
The playground is fully fenced and has unshaded tables and seats, water tap and big grassy area dotted with some lovely trees.
The playground is well away from the road and was upgraded in 2015.
