To the south of Thea Grove is Boronia Grove Reserve and to the north is Baratta/Thea Reserve. On the immediate south side is a small grassy area next to a ring of car parking places which leads to a pavilion and oval with rubbish bins. The oval is ringed by some fairly limited grassy areas with trees. On the south side of the oval, beside the freeway, is the Koonung Trail where dogs must be on leash. This area has a water tap without a bowl beside the path. There is a second building to the west which is home to the Phoenix Theatre Company, Chinese Youth Society of Melbourne, Australian Dog Training and Doncaster Cricket Club.
To the west of this building is a big grassy area which slopes down to a fence above Koonung creek. You do hear a fair bit of noise from the Eastern Freeway.
