Spanners Welding our Community
The Boort Regional Arts Group applied for funding from Regional Arts Victoria, commissioning local artist John Piccoli to construct a sculpture for Boort.

This magnificent sculpture titled "Past and Present" by John Piccoli was created with the assistance of the Boort Community. The Boort Regional Arts Group would especially like to acknowledge the Boort Development Committee for supplying the foundations. The Community donated spanners for the project from which John has produced a sculpture of significance that depicts our link with the past by recognising the DjaDja Wurrung Nation, the first settlers and our optimism for the future.

The Boort Regional Arts Group has enjoyed working with John Piccoli and promoting Australian Art.

This sculpture "Spanners Welding Our Community" was unveiled on 7th December 2007 by Dr. Sharman Stone, MP Federal Member for Murray and Peter Walsh, MLA State Member for Swan Hill.
