Bob Burgess Reserve Dog Off Leash Area (Beaconsfield)
There is a very large grassy area dotted with trees. Overlooking the area is a shelter with table and BBQ. A gravel path runs around the area and there are some seats. Cardinia Creek runs along one side of the area and there is thick vegetation on this side. Dogs could have a dip in the creek but there is a lot of fallen trees and branches in the creek.
There are no bins or a water tap.

The reserve is located beside and behind a series of shops which is the place to park.
This reserve is dedicated to Bob Burgess in memory of his outstanding and selfless service to his community. Husband to Beverly and father to Leonie, Glenys, Judy and Greg, Bob was a much-loved and respected figure in the Beaconsfield community.
Bob's commitment and contribution to his local community began at age 17 when he joined the Beaconsfield Fire Brigade. After just one month, Bob was elected secretary and, through many years of dedication, his community and leadership earnt him the most senior position of brigade captain; a position he held from 1971 until 1991. Bob had a deep respect and love for the outdoors and could often be found on the banks of the Cardinia Creek, trying his luck at fishing. He shared this love and knowledge of the outdoors with students and teachers alike at St Francis Xavier College when he became the school bus driver and maintenance man at the Beaconsfield campus later in life. His involvement in school life enriched the school community and created a lasting legacy. So much so, that the college honoured Bob's memory, describing him as a teacher in his own rite - a 'teacher of life' - by naming one of their school houses after him.
Bob's community involvement was far reaching. He was a beloved member of the Officer Scouts for 6 years, including 3 years as Scout leader, a member of Officer Primary School parent committee for 10 years and chairman for 14, as well as a member of the Officer cricket, footy and table tennis clubs.
Bob was a remarkable member of the community who inspired others with his enthusiasm and abilities and warmed them with his personality.
