Birchip History Museum
The Museum is situated in the old Court House, built in 1914. This building was also the residence of the clerk of courts for several years.
Things to see at the museum include late 1880's wedding dress, early china, war memorial room, collection of early newspapers, sporting and music room, small farming equipment, early household utensils, school items, clothing and much more.
Services available include local history research, family research, early local maps, local papers 1891-2000 -indexed to 1979, births, deaths and marriages -indexed to 1921, death index 1921-1986, over 1700 photos catalogued and many booklets available for purchase.
A replica of the Wild Dog Fence also known as the Netting Fence provides part of the fence on the south east of the museum. A section of the original fence remains near Kinnabulla on the Sunraysia Highway.
