Belmont Common South Dog Off Leash Area (Belmont)
Belmont Common South is a combination of district sports reserve, sports restricted areas, nature reserve and encumbered open space (flood plain).
The southern section of the Belmont Common encompasses the South Barwon Recreation Reserve and has a number of separate areas for specific recreational pursuits. The Common is home to the Target Rifle Geelong Club at the rifle range, the Geelong Obedience Dog Club and the Geelong & District Riding Club on the south side of the Waurn Ponds Creek. It also houses the Barwon Valley Golf Club and driving range.
The reserve is diverse in uses and natural beauty along the river banks and the Jerringot Wetland area.
There is a BMX Track, cricket practice nets, pavilion, oval with hard cricket wicket and toilets.
Note: Sporting grounds and ovals in the Greater Geelong area can be used for dog off leash activities outside of regular sport or training times.
