Belgrave Lake Park Dog Off Leash Area (Belgrave)
A large grassy area which is surrounded by an asphalt walking path. Dogs must be on a leash outside the area bounded by the path. At the western end is a play area for dogs with big logs, tunnel and rock mound. This area has a shelter with seat and water tap with bowl. On the grassy hill which overlooks this area are two unshaded tables. At the eastern end is a water pipe leading into a rock lined bowl.
The grassy area can be muddy after rain. On the southern side is a nice playground, outdoor gym and shelter with tables, BBQs and toilets.
The off-leash area excludes Monbulk Creek and dogs (on leash) are discouraged from entering the creek area due to the possible presence of platypuses. The walk to the lake is an on lead area. The lake is not very visually appealing and is surrounded by a lot of high reeds. There are a lot of ducks on the lake. The creek flows across a weir at the west end of the lake and swimming is not allowed in the lake.
