Beaufort Memorial Garden
The Beaufort Memorial Garden was designed and planted in 1995-96 to remind us of the service men and women of Beaufort & district during times of conflict.
The garden design included a War Memorial, memorial walls & rosemary for remembrance, Lone Pine, anchor (representing the Royal Australian Navy), Rising Sun (representing the Australian Imperial Forces and the Royal Australian Regiments), propeller (representing the Australian Flying Corps and the Royal Australian Air Force), Pioneers, Red Roses (representing the Blood of Flanders), Yellow Roses (along the path of Peace) and Pink Roses (representing Women's services).
The beautiful gardens also have garden beds with daffodils (in season), paths, a plaque in recognition of the 100th Anniversary of Legacy (1923-2023), memorial metal sculptures of soldiers, impressive 'Soldiers at Ease' wooden sculptures by Dean Smith, Krupp 77mm field gun which was captured on 29th September 1918 near Bullecourt, France and wooden figures carved by Kevin Guilders.
