Beaufort - Koori Art Trail
The Koori Art trail features 12 installations which depict the traditional flora and fauna of the area, and pays homage to the traditions, customs and stewardship of the local lands.
The traditional owners of the land are the Wadawurrung, Dja Dja Wurrung and the Djab Wurrung tribes.
The Koori Art Trail is an initiative of HM Prison Lang Kal Kal on behalf of the Department of Justice and Regulation and is supported by the Pyrenees Shire Council. The artwork by indigenous prisoners is provided to the Beaufort Community and visitors to celebrate the indigenous history of this country.
The 2 kilometre trail starts at the Beaufort Lake boat ramp which you can access via the Goldfields Recreation Reserve. You can extend your walk into the neighbouring reserve where you will find a network of walking tracks, a BMX track and a series of exercise equipment.
