Beach Road Foreshore Playground, Beach Road, Sandringham
A sea themed playground perched above the bay. A giant five legged octopus (those Takoyaki were delicious, yum) occupies the main sandpit which is covered by a shade sail. A scary fish with sharp teeth is in the corner of the sandpit with a mushroom spray which channels water down the back of the fish into the sandpit. Across the bridge is another sandpit with a water tap to allow water to run down a slope into the sandpit.
Climb a tower with some steep steps, take in the view across the bay and then slide down the spiral slide. There is also an in-ground trampoline, percussion pipes, big spinning swing with thick ropes which revolve around, balance beams, bow of a ship, wooden treasure chest and a structure for younger kids with slide, tunnel, steps, steering wheel and rope net ladder. Three swings including one with a big rope seat.
There are five shaded tables under trees, BBQs, grassy area beside Beach Road, water tap, toilets, outdoor gym and a path leads down to the beach. There is ticketed parking next to the playground but there are some areas with free parking.
