Mentone Aquatic (Mentone)
We are highly researched, experienced and resourced in designing and implementing premium quality swimming and water safety programs. We have 25+ years' experience teaching Infant, toddlers and children in the finest swimming and water safety programs.
There is a 8 lane, 25 metre pool with depth of 1 - 1.4 metres and a temperature of 30 - 31 degrees.
Programs
Parent & Child
In these classes parents are encouraged to participate and be 'hands on' in teaching the child the fundamentals of water safety and water familiarization.
An emphasis is placed on swimming skills and general mobility, with a core focus on developing confidence.
These classes are great for building confidence in the water and are an extremely fun activity for the baby and parent. Goal is to progress towards lessons without a parent at 3 years of Age.
The songs and activities will keep everyone smiling!
Beginner Levels
Children are taught the fundamentals of swimming and basic stroke development in Backstroke and Freestyle. Emphasis is placed on developing and strengthening kicking techniques, water independence, and class participation.
We emphasise 'getting things right' from the start to ensure correct technique as the swimmer advances through learning the major strokes.
Water Safety is paramount and is presented in a fun yet structured manner.
Intermediate Levels
Once general water safety requirements are met, further emphasis is then placed on technique.
Kicking, Streamlining, Freestyle, Backstroke, Breastroke and Butterfly techniques are all taught to the children.
Independent stroke work is undertaken with a high level of focus of building strong technical foundation.
Squad Levels
Consolidating stroke technique remains a priority while also developing our swimmers speed and endurance.
We are committed to providing the strongest squad program in the state, through high participation, enjoyment and achievement.
Our passionate coaching team provide an exceptional environment utilising the latest in high level training systems and programming.
District, State and National level swimmers form a strong part of the Swimming Club Community
Holiday Programs
Each school holiday period we conduct our 5-day Intensive Program. The program is suitable for many different ages and standards of swimming.
The program consists of 5-45 minute lessons at a discounted price. It is great for children who may be attending their first group lessons, or for those who wish to make some sharp and immediate improvements to their stroke technique.
